Hello and welcome to my personal corner of the web πŸ‘‹

As stated on the About-Page, this website is meant to be my digital outlet for thoughts, experiences, notes...
This is not supposed to be a tool for collecting your personal data - I neither need nor want that!

Below I will lay out (from a tech-noob-perspective) which technology I use and which data I can/do collect. Please note that I am doing my very best to create an inviting, friendly, human and respectful place for everyone!

TLDR:
I will not collect any user data unless you voluntarily choose to share it (e.g. in order to recieve E-Mail-Newsletters).
I do use Plausible Analytics in a privacy respecting way to help me evaluate my posts and improve my writing.

What data do I collect and why?

If you choose to subscribe to Flummic.com to receive blog updates, I’ll collect:

  • Your E-Mail-Address
  • The date you subscribed

Flummic.com is based on Ghost.org which is a privacy respecting, open source blog and newsletter plattform .
I use your E-Mail-Address only to send you E-Mails informing you about new posts, using Ghost’s built-in newsletter system.

Your E-Mail-Adress is stored and used under the lawful basis of consent (you opted in). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Should you feel uncomfortable with your subscription you can always choose to unsubscribe at any time. Every E-Mail contains an unsubscribe link for that!
As soon as you opt out your mail-address is permanently removed from the list!

What about cookies?

According to this Ghost.org, Ghost does not set any non-essential cookies by default and I do not change that.
Therfore this site uses only the default session cookies, which are necessary to:

  • Keep users logged in (if they voluntarily decided to log in) for comments or admin access
  • Manage session security

These cookies do not track you across the web or share data with third parties.
No analytics or advertising cookies are in use.

Since all cookies are technically necessary to provide the base functionality, a cookie banner is not required under German or EU law (as of July 2025).

What about analytics?

I do use Plausible.io as a privacy-respecting, open source tool to help me evaluate general traffic trends (e.g. how often a post is visited) without compromising your privacy.

Plausible does this by aggregating anonymised data while measuring only the most essential data points. Plausible does not use cookies, collect personal data or track individual visitors across sites!

This way I get a little information about what I'm doing here, which is really helpful to make more informed decisions and to improve my writing!
